
Evan Ducker is an 11th grade honor-roll student, recognized by Who's
Who Among Outstanding Students. In 2009, Evan was named one of 12 finalists in the prestigious "Do Something"
Awards -- a grant competition honoring the country's top, young world-changers (under age 25). As part of his award,
Evan's image and cause are currently featured on more than 40 million Doritos bags. He was also named a 2009 regional
winner in the Kohl's Dept. Store, "Kids Who Care Foundation" scholarship contest. In November 2009 Evan was
honored as that month's "Karma Kid" by Zorbitz, the internationally renowned fashion "jeweler-for-a-cause"
company. He is currently featured in the motivational film, Friends, with screenings to over
5 million students in grade schools across the country. In 2008,
Evan was named the world's "Most Amazing Kid of the Month" (November) by Amazing Kids!, a
non-profit educational organization dedicated to helping children realize their amazing potential. He received the 2008 Ulster
County Youth Bureau's prestigious "Outstanding Achievement" award for his work in raising birthmark awareness, world-wide,
and the 2007 'Outstanding Service Award' by KCS in Kingston, NY. He has been interviewed for segments on CNN,
the CBS Early Show, and NBC-TV, as well as other television stations, radio shows (including Bill Bradley's XM Satellite Radio
show, American Voices, and Katherine Albrecht's talk radio show), newspapers, and on-line features, world-wide.
He has also been featured in Ladies Home Journal magazine & Scholastic's Scope magazine. Evan recently traveled to Dublin, Ireland as a guest of Our Lady's
Children's Hospital, where he spoke to some 100 families living with birthmarks. When not answering emails, or guest speaking at schools and events, he enjoys all types
of animals & wildlife. An active volunteer at his community zoo; Evan cares for all types of animals
including birds, reptiles, and mammals. He is a member of the Varsity basketball and track
teams at his high school, has a black belt in tae kwon do, and plays bass guitar in a band. Evan also
enjoys reading and playing XBox Live and Wii. He lives in upstate New York with his co-author Mom, dad Greg, and his pets: "Elmo:
the dog, "Pimento" the Caledonian Eyelash Crested Gecko, "Tabasco" the red-fire bearded dragon, "Dorito",
the leopard gecko, "Aero" the starling bird, and "Vader" the Madagascan hissing cockroach. Evan is Vice President and co-owner of E & D Books,
Ltd., a corporation he and his mom established together. He hopes to study zoology, work with animals, and travel to the Galapagos Islands and Australia
in the future.
